Köngen – The digital transformation of the economy is progressing worldwide. According to “Digitalization 2020”, an international study, many companies are especially convinced of the advantages of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). However, to date, only every fourth company has already implemented projects in the field of AI/ML as well. For this study, business consultancy Staufen together with experts from Staufen Digital Neonex, surveyed more than 1,100 companies. Participants came from Germany, USA, China, Brazil, Mexico, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, and Romania.

Köngen – Measures introduced around the world to contain the Covid-19 pandemic are developing into a long-term stress test for the industry. 56 percent of companies assume that they will not be able to resume work like before the shutdown until the end of the year at the earliest, or even over the course of next year. According to the current study “New start after the 2020 shutdown,” however, seven percent of companies fear they will not be able to hold out that long. Management consultancy Staufen interviewed more than 730 companies in April for the study. Participants came from Germany, USA, China, Brazil, Mexico, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Romania.

Köngen – Endangered supply chains, trade fairs and business trips canceled and disinfectant dispensers at the factory gates – the coronavirus has taken a firm grip on German industry. How well companies will emerge from the crisis largely depends on how the past few years were used to improve their own processes. According to a recent study from business consultancy Staufen, Germany’s world market leaders have apparently done their homework. Over the past two years, almost three quarters have improved their resilience to crises, forming a solid foundation. A total of 231 German companies were surveyed for the study, which are world leaders in either their industry or segment.
